Stop and Reverse Weight Loss

Sleep is Essential For Getting YOUR SHAPE BACK

Sleep is a relative concept. Of course, we cannot live without sleep, but the amount of sleep we each need varies greatly.

Sleep only becomes an issue in our lives when we think we cannot get enough of it.

Some people can thrive on relatively little sleep, perhaps 4 – 5 hours every 24 hours. While others need 10 hours or more sleep, to feel refreshed.

There is no question that sleep – the lack of it, is a serious issue to a great many people.

University studies have shown that a lack of sleep can be a contributing factor to weight gain. Lack of sleep can also cause many other physiological and physiological issues, to varying degrees.

Sleep is a natural healer. While you sleep, if it is a relaxed sleep, your body goes to work carrying out essential repairs to its cells and tissues. Your brain gets busy sorting out the neural network and cleaning and renewing cells that have been gummed up with bio-wastes and stress.

Without relaxed sleep much of this repair work cannot be done and the everyday damage to the cells simply builds up. To a point where eventually it becomes a problem. The more the lack of sleep, the greater the build-up of damage in the cells.

Everyone knows when they have not had enough sleep. They become irritable and over-sensitive to situations - stressed. Sluggish in thought and action, and often depressed. This is often when a vicious cycle begins to develop.

What are the main causes of insomnia?

Of course, the number one cause is anxiety / tension / stress. Without any stress in your life you will rarely have any problems getting all the relaxed, healing sleep that you need.

Other causes of (short-term) insomnia are sometimes related to other emotional responses, such as excitement, anticipation, expectation, working-out solutions to a particular challenge, and so on.

Often night-time becomes the best time to think about how you can effect your future. What happens if you do this – or you don't do that? You then begin to imagine all manner of possible scenarios that might happen. Your mind simply refuses to rest as it tackles endless concepts and ideas.

Habits can become a barrier to full relaxed sleep. I have developed a habit for seemingly no apparent reason, of automatically waking up in the early hours every morning. I don't know why, but this has become the time my mind kicks into gear and is my most productive time for writing. Luckily, being retired, I am able to simply live with this habit – and enjoy it, rather than fight it. I can catch up on my sleep later in the morning.

The 'secret' (which, of course, is not a secret) to getting a relaxed sleep is to somehow calm the mind. Somehow, you have to break the stress-cycle which leads to insomnia.

Obviously, if you can reduce, mitigate, or if possible, remove the causes of the most significant stresses / anxiety, in your life, sleep will be far easier to come by.

As with my philosophy about weight reduction, and all other dis-eases and ailments, a HOLISTIC approach, is the only way to cure insomnia on a permanent basis.

If you do have any problems getting a full night's relaxed sleep, you can bet your bottom dollar, these same problems are contributing to your weight gain – or, at least, making it more difficult for you to reduce your weight.

Therefore curing your insomnia will help you to get Your Shape Back.

Sleep is a Wonderful Natural Healing Process

For sleep to be effective as a healing process – it has to be a deep and relaxed sleep. Having a 'power-nap' for 30 minutes, or so, during the day is vastly beneficial, but is doesn't substitute for a good night's sleep.

Clearing the clutter from your mind is not easy, but without doing this your quest for sleep will remain elusive. Once to do obtain a good, proper sleep the healing process that goes on during that sleep will make it easier to get another proper sleep... and so on.

Nutrition – as with every other disease and ailment you will ever face, is the real key to getting a good night's sleep.

As you continue on your weight loss journey and gradually change your lifestyle and eating habits, you will find sleep getting ever easier to find and enjoy.

Even with better nutrition though, you may still need help with falling asleep.

If you do, then try...

The more you lack sleep, the worse you feel, and then the more you worry and stress about not getting enough sleep. Then the harder it becomes to get any relaxed sleep at all.

Enter the PROFIT- motivated pharmaceutical industry with their synthetic chemical sleeping pills and potions. Perhaps you are lucky and are able to succumb to the chemical-induced fog of semi-drugged sleep. And perhaps you may even feel better for it... In the short-term.

However the CAUSE of your lack of relaxed sleep is still present.

listening to subliminal binaural beats messages and / or, guided meditations – or a combinations of these, through headphones, as you try to fall asleep.

I would also strongly advise that you try playing 'White Noise' during the night.

A search on Youtube will reveal countless 10 – 12 hour recordings of such things as; box fans, air conditioner compressors, the hum of airplane engines, and even the drone of 'spaceship sleeping quarters'.

These are excellent aids to sleep, often over-looked.

Once you have broken the ever-perpetuating cycle of stress-related insomnia – perhaps, after 2 – 3 months, you will find you no longer need  any kind of sleeping ai

However, if you require more serious help to achive thorough, healing sleep this will help you...

Also remember the synthetic chemicals stay in your body as fat, and also cause untold side-effects on other cells in your body. Pharmaceutical sleeping drugs are not the long-term answer.

Other remedies such as buying a new mattress or pillow, or bedtime drinks, again only treat the 'symptoms' of a lack of sleep – insomnia. Not the causes.

This is from the sales page...

From an unhealthy sleep-wake cycle and lack of sun exposure to lack of exercise, eating the wrong foods, negative brain stimulation and an unfavorable sleeping environment, it's no wonder we are all struggling to sleep!

Through this research I founded the Six Steps, a process that reprograms the body and creates and health sleep-wake cycle using good sleep hygiene methodology.

The book was very well received, and I even got a congratulatory letter from my old sleep hygiene therapist!

Over the following year I continued my research, endeavouring to discover more practical ways of helping myself and others optimize their sleep.

What I discovered next  enhanced the Six Steps even further, and changed my life forever…
